Dan Lauzon vs. Efrain Escudero – UFC 114
At UFC 114 on May 29th, Efrain Escudero and Dan Lauzon will square off. As there have been rumors of this fight-taking place for months now, this fight should bring a lot of excitement.
In the course of his loss against Evan Dunham in the beginning of the year, Efrain Escudero had suffered an elbow injury. A lot of people wondered when Escudero would be able to return to the ring because of this injury. The MRI results on the elbow look good and he is now ready to take on Lauzon.
In mixed martial arts, Escudero sports a 12-1 career record. His last fight in which he sustained the elbow injury was his first loss ever. Now that Escudero is healthy, he looks to bounce back from his first career loss against Dan Lauzon, who has struggled in the UCF so far.
In UFC matches Lauzon has 0-2, although has a 12-3 career record. For Dan Lauzon, this match will be big. At 18 years old, he fought his first UFC match, becoming the youngest fighter ever to fight in the UFC. After being defeated, his stay in the UFC didn’t last long but a few years later he was invited back to fight. He lost his last UFC fight and with another loss, we may not see much of Dan Lauzon in the UFC.
To put opponents into submission, Escudero has been known for the same. He managed to put his opponent into submission 9 times, in his first 11 fights. As he put Cole Miller down with a TKO, he has recently showed his striking abilities too. Dan Lauzon will have his hands full in this one.
